Facebook fixes my AVG problem
My blog is blocked
When I set up this blog site a problem presented itself within days of my first posting. My AVG virus software posted a warning that it had “detected active threats on this page”. I went back and forth with my hosting service and we could not find items that we thought could be “threats”. I had just started the site, so I decided to remove it from the host and start over.
I began the site the second time with a generic page that was the default on the hosting service. I uploaded nothing. A few days later I tried to access the site and got the same warning. So I sent a support request to my hosting service and said, “you must have a problem on your end, everything that is on the web originated from your material”. But, they were unable to recreate the error. I gave the matter some thought and decided to try to contact AVG, my virus protection service.
An quicker and easier way to get service
Like so many large companies, AVG makes it a little hard to get in contact with an individual. So after spending over fifteen minutes on their site I decided to try to solve the problem on Facebook. I looked up AVG on Facebook and became a “fan” on their page. That allowed me to post a message to their wall. So in a short post I stated my problem. And then moved on to other things that I had to do.
Within a few hours I checked my iPhone and saw that there was a response to my post. A service rep had responded to my post. She gave me an email address and asked that I contact her. So I did. The next morning an email was waiting for me that explained there was an error at AVG and it had been taken care of. Later that day I went to a computer with AVG protection and pulled up this site. And there it was. No warnings, no problems and ready to start blogging.
How’s this for a coincidence?
Facebook helped me solve my problem. And here I have presented it as my first blog on my zoosalon-mimi.ru blog site!
